		SSL is a private limited liability company incorporated in August 1997 as a specialized investment management firm that provides financial and investment advisory services to a select clientele of government, corporate organizations and high networth individuals It was incorporated with an authorized and fully paid up share capital of N40 million and registered with the Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC) as an Issuing House and Broker Dealer At the time of incorporation the following was the shareholding structure : In December 2005 the paid up share capital was increased to N70mm based on the instructions of the Securities and Exchange Commission As one of the fallouts of the banking consolidation, the shares of the FSB Staff Welfare Trust Scheme were divested and the board approved a further increase in share capital to N140mm and the sale of shares to Alpine Investment Services giving it a 49% equity stake in SSL
